Boston Cleaners Co. started with one commuter student looking for gas money. Lauren never expected that taking an offer to clean a house once a week from her school's job board would turn into a full-time business! References turned into more work, and more work turned into first hires. Now the married duo utilizes Boston Cleaners Co. to provide professional house cleaning services to dozens of families in the Boston area.

Taking our "maid" services to a "professional" level was the big jump for us. The good feedback we get from clients is often on the demeanor and thoroughness of our cleaners. We found that the exceptional effort we were putting in was paying off immensely, and so we paid back into that professional culture. Steven cleaned throughout grad school, helping to earn money on the side. Once he saw he and Lauren's work was really freeing people up to do more with their lives, he realized this could take off from "side money" to "meaningful business". He coordinates the day-to-day operations. When he's not cleaning (or thinking about cleaning), Steven enjoys frisbee, kayaking, video games, and a good long nap.

Lauren's first cleaning job quickly turned into more than she could handle on her own, as references and recommendations to friends and connections piled up. This is largely due to her efficiency in thorough cleaning! She now trains our cleaners to clean just as effectively as she does. Lauren attended art school and enjoys ceramics and painting.
